Early in the morning our guide will meet at hotel. Then we will head from Bishkek to Chon Kemin gorge.
On the way we will visit the medieval Burana tower - a place that is written in every guidebook to Kyrgyzstan! Burana is one of the main ancient buildings in our country, and we will be happy to show you this place. We will visit the territory of the settlement, climb to the top of the tower, visit a small museum with interesting archaeological finds that were made during the researches.
Chon Kemin is a unique natural complex, which extends for several kilometers. The complex is in two and half hours drive from Bishkek. Being a narrow gorge in its east part, it gradually expands, forming a wide valley in the central part and again closing up at the very end. Horse riding is the best option to experience fully the atmosphere of this fascinating place and observe the beauty of forests and rivers.
We will stay there all day. So lunch, dinner and overnight will be in cozy guest house.
After breakfast in this beautiful gorge we will head to Naryn area, where is the lake located. On the way we will have lunch in Kochkor village, place where you can have not only lunch, but also visit souvenir shop.
Finally, in the late afternoon we will come to Son-Kul Lake. Son-Kul is an alpine lake, located at an altitude 3016 meters. We will stay in yurts, taste delicious national dishes and have a rest after a long road.
This day you will spend on the lake Son-Kul. Here you can go hiking, stroll through the nearby mountains or just relax and enjoy nature. Overnight in Yurt.
As soon as we will have breakfast, we will leave this peaceful place and yurt camp. Our next stop will be in Issyk Kul region. Issyk Kul Lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations in our country. Issyk Kul is the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, the second largest salt lake in the world, which never freezes.
Lunch will be in yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul lake. Today we have an opportunity see waterfall, walk in forest and in canyon.
First of all we will go to Barskaun gorge, famous for its waterfalls. The gorge is also famous because it was visited by the first man who flew into space – Yuri Gagarin. This is an amazing place!
Then we will go to Fairy Tale canyon. A small gorge “canyon Fairy Tale” is a picturesque place where you can watch the red clay rocks, which under the influence of soil erosion have acquired a bizarre appearance, it is not for nothing that it was called “Fairy Tale”, because among the rocks, by using imagination you can see different characters.
For dinner we will back to same yurt camp, where we had lunch. To our arrival dinner will be ready. Overnight will in yurts.
After breakfast in yurt camp we will head to Karakol. On the way we will visit Djety Oguz gorge, famous for its red rocks. This is an amazing place! The slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forest, the dirty road leaves to the high-mountain meadows, and somewhere in the depths of the gorge is hidden small but beautiful waterfall. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot, by car or by riding horses in a small village very close to (horses are given for an extra fee).
Mid-afternoon finally we will come to Karakol, we will have small city tour around city, which is very interesting with his main attractions like Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Dungan Mosque.
Later this evening we will stay in a guest house created by a Kyrgyz-Dutch family and go for a dinner.
On the 6th day we will leave Karakol by the north shore of Issyk Kul lake. In Cholpon Ata, we will visit the interesting cultural complex Ruch Ordo, known with the Museum of Five Religions. After exploring the museum, we will go for a lunch and then continue our trip.
We will arrive to Bishkek by the evening. After the tour, we can drop you to the hotel or directly to Manas airport (no extra charge).
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk-Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
In the gorge Djety-Oguz you can also rent horses for horseback riding, surcharge 500 soms per hour for one horse.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
