On the first day we will head from Bishkek to Karakol city, low-rise town with backstreets full of Russian gingerbread cottages.
Our first big stop will be at the Burana complex - we will visit the tower, which dates back to the X-XI centuries. Burana is one of the oldest structures on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The height of the tower is more than 20 meters, and it has a beautiful view from the top! We will explore all the most interesting objects on the territory of the historical complex and then continue our journey to Issyk-Kul.
After Burana tower finally we will head to Issyk Kul region. On the way we will stop in Choplon Ata city, where we will have lunch.
Later this evening we arrive to Karakol, we will stay in a guest house created by a Kyrgyz-Dutch family and go for a dinner.
After breakfast we will leave our guest house and we will walk around Karakol city, which is very interesting with his main attractions like Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Dungan Mosque. Then we will head to Jyrgalan valley, we will arrive to Jyrgalan to the lunch, after lunch we will walk to the Kok Bel waterfall, then we will come back to the guest house, where will have a hot dinner and cozy rooms.
Jyrgalan, located on the east coast of lake Issyk-Kul. Jyrgalan is gaining popularity among fans of hiking and you will have a great opportunity to explore this place. Our guide will go with you to hiking for a few hours (you will decide how long it will last). Dinner and overnight will be in the same guest house.
After breakfast we will leave our guest house and will head to the south shore of Issyk Kul lake.
On the way we will visit Djety Oguz gorge, famous for its red rocks. This is an amazing place! The slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forest, the dirty road leaves to the high-mountain meadows, and somewhere in the depths of the gorge is hidden small but beautiful waterfall. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot, by car or by riding horses in a small village very close to (horses are given for an extra fee).
We will back to the yurt camp to dinner, in cozy yurt we will have traditional dish in traditional atmosphere. Overnight will be in yurt.
After breakfast in yurt camp we will go to Fairy Tale canyon. This beautiful place differs very much from all other landscapes of Issyk Kul.
Then we will head to Naryn area, where is the lake located. On the way we will have lunch in Kochkor village, place where you can have not only lunch, but also visit souvenir shop.
Finally, in the late afternoon we will come to Son-Kul lake. Son-Kul is an alpine lake, located at an altitude 3016 meters. We will stay in yurts, taste delicious national dishes and have a rest after a long road.
This day you will spend on the lake Son-Kul. Here you can go hiking, stroll through the nearby mountains or just relax and enjoy nature. Overnight in yurt.
After breakfast, we will return to Bishkek through the mountain pass, which surprise with contrast and its beauty. We will come to Balykchy city to the lunch, after lunch we will continue our trip to Bishkek.
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
In the gorge Djety Oguz you can also rent horses for horseback riding, surcharge 500 soms per hour for one horse.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, antihistamine, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
