Our trip will start from capital of our country - Bishkek city. Early in the morning we will head to Son-Kul Lake, on the way to the lake we will visit very interesting places, so our journey will not be boring.
Half an hour later we will come to Burana complex, located in Tokmok city. Burana complex one of the oldest structures of this kind in Central Asia. The data when it was built vary. We will see mausoleums, rise to the top of tower and visit local museum.
After excursion in Burana complex we will head to Naryn area, where is the lake located. On the way we will have lunch in Kochkor village, place where you can have not only lunch, but also visit souvenir shop.
Finally, in the late afternoon we will come to Son-Kul Lake. Son-Kul is an alpine lake, located at an altitude 3016 meters. We will stay in yurts, taste delicious national dishes and have a rest after a long road.
As soon as we will have breakfast, we will leave this peaceful place and yurt camp. Our next stop will be in Issyk Kul region. Issyk Kul Lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations in our country. Issyk Kul is the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, the second largest salt lake in the world, which never freezes.
Lunch will be in yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul lake. On our second day we have an opportunity see waterfall, walk in forest and in canyon.
First of all we will go to Barskaun gorge, famous for its waterfalls. The gorge is also famous because it was visited by the first man who flew into space – Yuri Gagarin. This is an amazing place!
Then we will go to Fairy Tale canyon. A small gorge “canyon Fairy Tale” is a picturesque place where you can watch the red clay rocks, which under the influence of soil erosion have acquired a bizarre appearance, it is not for nothing that it was called “Fairy Tale”, because among the rocks, by using imagination you can see different characters.
For dinner we will back to the same yurt camp, where we had lunch. To our arrival dinner will be ready. Overnight will in yurts.
On the third day we will go to Jyrgalan valley. One of the famous valleys, which you can visit all year around. On the way we will visit Djety Oguz gorge, famous for its red rocks. This is an amazing place! The slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forest, the dirty road leaves to the high-mountain meadows, and somewhere in the depths of the gorge is hidden small but beautiful waterfall. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot, by car or by riding horses in a small village very close to (horses are given for an extra fee).
On the fourth day we will leave this village filled with the extraordinary atmosphere of authenticity of this place and will head to Karakol city, low-rise town with backstreets full of Russian gingerbread cottages. Karakol city is very interesting with his main attractions like Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Dungan Mosque. Lunch and dinner will be Karakol city. Overnight will be in the guest house.
On the fifth of the tour we will go to the Altyn Arashan gorge, famous for its beautiful landscapes and hot springs. The road to the gorge is quite complicated and you can get there only on off-road vehicles (including the Soviet ones), so this trip is a real adventure! A trip to Altyn Arashan will take almost the whole day. You will see the beautiful nature of Tien Shan, visit the hot springs, have lunch in a guest house in the mountains. Later in the evening we will return to Karakol, have dinner and go to rest.
On the 6th day we will leave Karakol by north shore of Issyk Kul lake. In Cholpon Ata, we will visit the interesting cultural complex Ruch Ordo, known with the Museum of Five Religions. After exploring the museum, we will go for a lunch and then continue our trip.
We will arrive to Bishkek by the evening. After the tour, we can drop you to the hotel or directly to Manas airport (no extra charge).
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
In the gorge Djety Oguz you can also rent horses for horseback riding, surcharge 500 soms per hour for one horse.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
