On the first day of our trip we will travel from Bishkek to Karakol, on the way visit Burana, a yurt camp on the south shore of Issyk Kul, Fairy Tale canyon and Djety Oguz gorge.
Our first big stop will be at the Burana complex - we will visit the tower, which dates back to the X-XI centuries. Burana is one of the oldest structures on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The height of the tower is more than 20 meters, and it has a beautiful view from the top! We will explore all the most interesting objects on the territory of the historical complex and then continue our journey to Issyk Kul. Closer to noon, we will arrive at the yurt camp, located very near to the lake, where we will have lunch.
After the meal, we will go to the Fairy Tale canyon. This beautiful place is half an hour’s drive from the camp and differs very much from all other landscapes of Issyk Kul. In 40 minutes from Fairy Tale canyon located one of the most beautiful gorges – Barskaun gorge, where we will visit a waterfall called “Tears of snow-leopard”, which is very easy to get.
After walking on the Barskaun gorge, we will go to the Djety Oguz gorge, famous for its red rocks. This is an amazing place! The slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forest, the dirty road leaves to the high-mountain meadows, and small but beautiful waterfall is hidden somewhere in the depths of the gorge. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot or by car.
Later this evening we arrive in Karakol, we will stay in a guest house created by a Kyrgyz-Dutch family and go for dinner.
After breakfast, we will leave our guest house and we will walk around Karakol city, which is very interesting with his main attractions like Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Dungan Mosque. Then we will head to Jyrgalan valley, we will arrive at Jyrgalan to the lunch, after lunch we will walk to the Kok Bel waterfall, then we will come back to the guest house, where will have a hot dinner and cozy rooms.
On the third day of our trip we will have an opportunity to stay all day in the stunning mountain gorge - Jyrgalan, which delights with its untouched nature. In the morning we will have breakfast, then we will go to Turnalluu picturesque lake, which is located at the height of 2700 meters above the sea level. To the lunch, we will return to the village. At our disposal will be all day, filled with the extraordinary atmosphere of the authenticity of this place. Then we will have dinner and stay in the guest house.
On the 4th day, we will leave Jyrgalan village by north shore of Issyk Kul lake. On the way to Cholpon Ata, we will go through beautiful Semenov and Georgiev gorges. In Cholpon Ata, we will visit the interesting cultural complex Rukh Ordo, known with the Museum of Five Religions. After exploring the museum, we will go for lunch and then continue our trip. We will arrive in Bishkek in the evening. After the tour, we can drop you to the hotel or directly to Manas airport (no extra charge).
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
