On the first day, we will have a great opportunity to escape from the urban bustle and spend a day among the beautiful mountains of the Kyrgyz ridge. In the morning, we meet you at the hotel and take a route to Chon Kemin Gorge. On the way, we will visit the ancient Burana tower.
Our first big stop will be at the Burana complex - we will visit the tower, which dates back to the X-XI centuries. Burana Tower is the oldest building in Central Asia it is not far from Bishkek - just 80 kilometers and 12 kilometers from the city of Tokmok on the territory of the ruins of the ancient settlement of Burana. We will explore all the most interesting objects on the territory of the historical complex and then continue our journey to Issyk Kul.
Chon Kemin is a unique natural complex, which extends for several kilometers. The complex is in two and a half hours drive from Bishkek. Being a narrow gorge in its eastern part, it gradually expands, forming a wide valley in the central part and again closing up at the very end. Horse riding is the best option to experience fully the atmosphere of this fascinating place and observe the beauty of forests and rivers. After horse riding we will have dinner, overnight will be in a guest house.
After breakfast in the guest house, we will continue our trip to the Issyk Kul region. On the way, we will stop in Cholpon Ata city - one of the big cities of this region located on the northern shore of Issyk Kul lake. In Cholpon Ata we will have an excursion In Rukh Ordo complex of five religions. After the excursion, we will have lunch and then continue our way to Karakol. Closer to the evening we will come to Karakol, where we will have dinner and stay in a cozy guest house.
After breakfast, we will leave our guest house and we will walk around Karakol city, which is very interesting with his main sightseeings like Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Dungan Mosque. Then we will head to Jyrgalan valley. We will arrive at Jyrgalan to the lunch, after lunch we will walk to the Kok Bel waterfall, then we will come back to the guest house, where will have a hot dinner and stay in the cozy rooms. Jyrgalan is a stunning mountain gorge, which delights with its untouched nature.
After breakfast, we will leave our guest house and head to the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. On the way, we will visit a picturesque valley of Djety Oguz with the red rocks, which means "Seven Bulls". Djety Oguz Gorge is one of the most beautiful places in Kyrgyzstan. The gorge owes its name to an amazing rock complex that welcomes travelers at the very beginning of the canyon. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot, by car or by riding horses in a small village very close to (horses are given for an extra fee).
After walking in Djety Oguz gorge we will go to Fairy Tale canyon, the place which differs from all other landscapes of the Issyk Kul region a lot.
We will back to the yurt camp to dinner, in the cozy yurt, we will have a traditional dish in a traditional atmosphere. Overnight will be in the yurt.
After breakfast, we will continue our excursion to the Barskaun gorge, famous for its waterfalls called «Tears of snow-leopard» and «Cup of Manas», which are very easy to get. The trip to the waterfalls will take several hours. After walking we will head to Bishkek, on the way we will have lunch in Balykchy city and will arrive in Bishkek by the evening.
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
In the gorge Djety Oguz you can also rent horses for horseback riding, surcharge 500 soms per hour for one horse.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
