On the first day of our trip we will have an opportunity to explore the capital of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek city and also Ala Archa National park that located not so far from Bishkek - just an hour! We will see all the main sights if Bishkek city and learn his history.
Then we will have lunch in one of the most famous tea houses in Bishkek. After lunch, we will go to Ala Archa National Park for walking. After walking we will back to Bishkek.
On the second day we will head from Bishkek to Karakol city, the low-rise town with backstreets full of Russian gingerbread cottages.
On the way, we will visit the medieval Burana tower - a place that you can read about in every guidebook to Kyrgyzstan! Burana is one of the main ancient buildings in our country, and we will be happy to show you this place. We will visit the territory of the settlement, climb to the top of the tower, visit a small museum with interesting archaeological finds that were made during the researches. We will explore all the most interesting objects on the territory of the historical complex and then continue our journey to Issyk Kul.
After visiting Burana tower, we will head to the Issyk Kul region. On the way, we will stop in Cholpon Ata city, where we will have lunch and visit «Rukh Ordo», a unique open-air museum on the shore of Issyk Kul Lake.
Later this evening we arrive in Karakol, we will stay in a guest house created by a Kyrgyz-Dutch family and go for dinner.
On the third day of our trip, we will stay in the stunning mountain gorge of Jyrgalan all day, but before we will explore Karakol city. After breakfast, we will leave our guest house and we will walk around Karakol city. We will have an opportunity to see the most famous sights of this city - Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Dungan Mosque. Then we will head to Jyrgalan valley, we will arrive at Jyrgalan to the lunch, after lunch we will walk to the Kok Bel waterfall, then we will come back to the guest house, where will have a hot dinner and stay in the cozy rooms.
After breakfast, we will leave our guest house and will head to the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake.
On the way, we will visit Djety Oguz gorge, famous for its red rocks. This place is wonderful! The slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forest, the dirty road leaves to the high-mountain meadows, and small but beautiful waterfall is hidden somewhere in the depths of the gorge. Djety Oguz can be explored on foot, by car or by riding horses in a small village very close to (horses are given for an extra fee).
After walking in Djety Oguz gorge we will go to Fairy Tale canyon. This beautiful place differs very much from all other landscapes of Issyk-Kul.
We will back to the yurt camp to dinner, in the cozy yurt, we will have a traditional dish in a traditional atmosphere. Overnight will be in a yurt.
After breakfast, we will continue our excursion to the Barskaun gorge, famous for its waterfalls called «Tears of snow-leopard» and «Cup of Manas», which are very easy to get. The trip to the waterfalls will take several hours. After walking we will head to Bishkek, on the way we will have lunch in Balykchy city and will arrive in Bishkek by the evening.
In the yurt camp on the shore of Issyk Kul you can see a demonstration of hunting with eagles (surcharge – 5000 soms from the group).
In the gorge Djety Oguz you can also rent horses for horseback riding, surcharge 500 soms per hour for one horse.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
