On the first day we will head to lake Son-Kul - a special lake for local residents. We will go there in the morning, no later than 10:00.
On the way we will visit the medieval Burana tower - a place that is written in every guidebook to Kyrgyzstan! Burana is one of the main ancient buildings in our country, and we will be happy to show you this place. We will visit the territory of the settlement, climb to the top of the tower, visit a small museum with interesting archaeological finds that were made during the researches.
After the tour to Burana, we will continue our way and through the Boom gorge we will go to another regions of the country - first to Issyk Kul, and then to the Naryn region. Our next stop will be in the village Kochkor. Here we will stay for lunch and visit a small museum. We will arrive to the shores of Son-Kul in the late afternoon. We will stay in yurts, taste delicious national dishes and have a rest after a long road.
After breakfast, we will return to Bishkek, but with another way through the mountain pass, which also surprise with contrast and beauty. We will come to Balykchy city for the lunch and also will have an opportunity to see Issyk Kul lake. After lunch we will continue our trip to Bishkek.
In Son-Kul Lake you can rent horses (for an additional fee). The prices are set by the owners of the horses.
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 oC and in the mountains the temperature decreases to 10 oC. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
